King Beats Joker?

Here's the Jokermobile again, this time in a car exhibit in Reno.

Built by George Barris, who also crafted the Batmobile, it was called the "Mongrel T." The fuzzy pink crap The Joker had is now green. Was it replaced? Or did it mold?

Elvis drove it in Easy Come, Easy Go (1967).

Chapter and verse.

The Sixties were a real transitional period for Batman comics, as the cornier stuff from the Fifties worked toward the "New Look" of the Seventies.

How did the TV show fit into that shift? Was the more realistic approach of the Seventies a reaction to the whole camp thing? Who knows.

Anyway, this book's got an introduction by our boy Adam West.

Weird photo.

Yvonne Craig is beautiful and all. And Batgirl is really cool. But this picture — from a '67 TV Guide article — kinda creeps me out.

If you're interested, you can read the story here.
